An efficient and effective approach to reducing pain, increasing strength,& flexibility, and reducing emotional stress.
Summary
Uses muscle biofeedback, pressure points, and Brain Integration techniques to quickly and gently balance muscles.
Decreases pain, improves strength and flexibility
Great for every day movements and for maximizing athletic performance
An excellent compliment to physical therapy or other movement modalities
An alternative to dry needling treatments for those who dislike needles
Muscle Reactivation- A Physical Application Of
Brain Integration Technique
Muscle reactivation is the specialized technique of balancing muscles that have become inhibited, have too much tone, or are no longer functioning properly. This technique “wakes up” the body- brain communication pathways to quickly and gently reduce pain, increase strength and flexibility.
Muscles are assessed and addressed individually or in their dysfunctional pairs. Following the correction techniques, muscles that were once in spasm and guarded are now relaxed, while muscles that were inhibited (or “turned off”) can now get back to work. This restores the proper working relationship between all muscles, and none are over stressed from taking on “too much of the weight.” All levels of motion can benefit– from the basic “everyday” movements of walking, rising, or climbing steps, to the high performance required of athletes.
What Happened to My Muscles?
Over the course of our lives, various parts of our bodies experience both large and small traumas, some of which our bodies are unable to fully adapt to. In order to continue to meet demands and conduct “business as usual” bodies create a “hack” to get the job done without over-stressing the injured part.
Over time, more and more muscles become injured and inhibited, and their ability to adapt is lost. This causes protective movement patterns and postural dysfunctions that lead to chronic pain and reduced performance and function. As we age we accumulate more and more adaptations. These compensations reduce the muscles’ performance and significantly increases the risk of future injury. As other muscles adapt to make up for the losses of strength and range of motion in other areas in an attempt to prevent further pain or injury. These “work around” strategies build up until the breaking point is reached. This is typically when it only takes a simple task, such as bending over to pick up a pen, to cause your back or knee to go out.
What is a Muscle Reactivation Session Like?
Each session is unique to the client’s need and uses a combination of gentle acupressure, applied kinesiology, and Brain Integration techniques to help restore muscles to their “original setting,” reduce pain, and improve function and performance.
While many people experience improvements during the first session, several sessions are likely required to fully address the client’s issues. Naturally, this will depend on the extent and complexity of the issues at hand.
What Can Muscle Reactivation help with?
Muscle Reactivation can help with:
Restoring Flexibility and Ease of Movement
Improving Strength and Stability
Improving Balance and Coordination
Injury and Post-Surgical Recovery
Pain Reduction
Postural Corrections
Neuro-muscular Improvements
Sports Performance Enhancements
Improved Bladder control
