Have You Tried Brazilian Toe Massage?

Brazilian Toe Massage is a relaxing and soothing energy balance technique that can help reduce

a variety of symptoms!

The Brazilian Toe Massage uses acupressure points to promote relaxation in the mind and body. It can help reduce emotional stress and general physical aches & pains. This technique is also reported to reduce nausea, restless leg syndrome, insomnia, and edema.

Despite it’s name, Brazilian Toe Massage works less like a massage and more like an energy or polarity balancing technique. How the Brazilian Toe Massage works is uncertain, but it is thought to affect acupressure points at meridian endpoints while holding fingers to toes. Another theory is that it works to balance polarity, as fingers and toes have opposite positive and negative charges. While the workings of Brazilian Toe Massage does not fit squarely into either system, it does produce great results!

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Lie down on your comfortably on your back in a position that you can hold for about 15 minutes.

  2. Have your partner stand/sit at your feet with access to both feet.

  3. Partner holds toes of both feet simultaneously, very lightly in the following sequence:

         * Start with thumb and 3rd finger holding the the 3rd toe

         * Then thumb and 4th finger holding the 4th toe.

         * Then thumb and 5th finger holding the 5th toe.

         * Then thumb and 2nd finger holding the 2nd toe.

         * Then thumb and 2nd & 3rd fingers to the big toe. The 2nd and 3rd fingers rest on either end of the nail.

  4. Fingers holds lightly at base of the toenail while thumb is always on the bottom under the pad of the toes. Only touch the two toes (one on each foot) that you are working on at a time.

  5. Change after 3 minutes, moving first the thumb and then the fingers to the next toe smoothly and gently. This ensures that constant contact is made.

  6. As you complete the session on the big toe, ease your fingers off very, very gently.

TIPS:

  • Physical comfort is important to this technique, and it is best performed by a partner, as performing it on yourself requires positioning that does not promote relaxation!

  • Twitching is not an uncommon response during this technique.
